Eurocharm strives for harmonious labor relations; we value employees’ right to express their opinions and set up VPIC1 labor union and labor-management meetings in accordance with the local labor laws to facilitate the communication channel of employees’ opinions. 100% of all employees in Vietnam have joined the VPIC1 union. The chairman of the union is the labor representative; employers, management level, and the union hold regular meetings to fully communicate their opinions. VPIC1 has a Safety and Environment Committee, which is responsible for supervising and improving occupational safety, health, and environmental activities, and regularly convenes the Safety and Environment Committee. In 2022, the Safety and Environment Committee held 4 meetings; a total of 2 environmental-related proposals and 4 occupational safety and health-related proposals were discussed. We give priority to listening to the opinions of labor representatives on major labor issues, and the local top-level executives discuss and negotiate with the employees to reach a consensus to ensure harmonious labor relations and sustainable development of the Company.

Minimum Notice Periods Regarding Operational Changes

Eurocharm terminates the labor contract in accordance with Article 11 or Article 13 of the Labor Standards Act. The notice period shall be in accordance with the following provisions:

  • Where a worker has worked continuously for more than 3 months but less than 1 year, the notice shall be given 10 days in advance.
  • Where a worker has worked continuously for more than 1 year but less than three years, the notice shall be given 20 days in advance.
  • Where a worker has worked continuously for more than 3 years, the notice shall be given 30 days in advance.
  • After receiving the notice, a worker may be absent form work during working hours to find another job. The number of hours of absent shall not exceed 2 days of work per week, and the absence period shall be paid.

There are two types of labor contracts signed by VPIC1 employees in Vietnam, limited term contracts and open term contracts, repectively. When a contract is unilaterally terminated, the proposing party must give notice in advance, and the notice period is 30 days for limited term contracts and 45 days for open term contracts.
