● The Group complies with the Gender Equality in Employment Act and the Implementation Measures for Unpaid Maternity Leave for Raising Children, providing employees with related rights such as maternity leave. In Vietnam, there is no specific leave for maternity reason, but female workers are entitled to six months of maternity leave before and after childbirth, with no more than two months before childbirth. In 2023, a total of 89 female employees were eligible for maternity leave during the year. ● In 2023, for the first time, a human rights advocacy program was conducted for employees of VPIC1 in Vietnam, totaling 4,324 hours, with a total of 4,720 new and current colleagues (4,720 individuals) completing the training. ● Due to changes in operational activities resulting from lifting COVID-19 prevention measures, the baseline year was adjusted to 2023. Electricity usage of VPIC1 in Vietnam is to be reduced by 2% annually, and the target for Eurocharm TW is a decrease by 1% per year. ● ISO 50001 has been introduced to Vietnam and Taiwan, where the third-party verifications were obtained in August and December 2023, respectively and expected to be conducted annually. ● Since June 2023, VPIC1 in Vietnam has been assessing the possibility of building its own solar facilities. ● The Company conducts regular identification of occupational hazards and risk assessments based on the “Hazard and Risk Assessment Procedure,” continuously and actively identifying hazards and assessing risks in various operational activities, products, and service processes for potential safety and health hazards. In 2023, 14 high-risk items were identified (such as elevator/crane cable or chain breakage, collision, brake hook to cable/chain, crushing injuries, electric shock, splash of mold/spring/parts, etc.), along with 62 medium-risk items and 15 low-risk items, to assess safety and health risks and opportunities, aiming for zero accidents. ● In 2023, we conducted an environmental monitoring on noises, respirable dusts, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, xylene, toluene, brightness, temperature, etc. by measuring 588 samples; among them, 444 samples of noises, respirable dusts, oxygen, carbon dioxide, xylene, brightness, and temperature met the standards, and 51 noise samples, 21 brightness samples, and 72 temperature samples failed to meet the standards. The Company immediately improved lighting and ventilation, while also strictly requiring employees to use earplugs as per regulations to reduce the impact of noise. Vietnam VPIC1 provides employees with earplugs and earmuffs and conducts regular special health checks for employees to ensure they receive proper care. ● In 2023, a total of 4,668 health checks were conducted for employees of Vietnam VPIC1, with 234 special health examinations carried out. Non-employee health checks are the responsibility of the contracting employer. During the year, there were no cases of employees or contractors within the Group experiencing fatal, work-related health deterioration. ● To address the waste issue, the first step is to reduce waste generation, followed by sorting for recycling, and waste disposal is the final step. The Group has established policies for resource recycling, including water, electricity, and raw materials. ● The Group has established the Sustainability Management Committee and the Risk Committee. The Sustainability Management Committee is responsible for formulating sustainable development policies, systems, or relevant management approaches, as well as specific implementation plans. The meetings are convened at least once every quarter to report to the Sustainability Management Committee on the monitoring, review, and revision of the implementation and effectiveness of corporate sustainable development. The Risk Committee is responsible for reviewing risk management policies, risk management frameworks, significant risk management strategies, and management reports on significant risk issues, and supervising improvement mechanisms, and regularly reporting on the implementation of risk management to the board of directors. ● The Group incorporates climate change into its risk issues and holds meetings at least twice a year to report to the Risk Committee. The Board of Directors is responsible for approving sustainable development policies, systems, or relevant management approaches, as well as specific implementation plans. ● The Company has established “Work Rules,” “Ethical Corporate Management Operating Procedures and Code of Conduct,” and “Code of Ethics” in accordance with the Labor Standards Act and relevant government regulations. ● Eurocharm Holdings has established an audit office in compliance of the “Regulations Governing Establishment of Internal Control Systems of Public Companies”, which oversees the audit of the management system and various operation procedures to establish an effective accounting system and internal control system. ● Eurocharm TW does not have the required number of employees to establish an Occupational Safety and Health Committee under the Occupational Safety and Health Act. This facilitates communication channels for employee opinions. All employees at VPIC1 in Vietnam are members of the labor union, and there is a collective agreement to protect their rights, signed by labor representatives.
