Our company places significant efforts into the physical and mental health as well as safety management of our employees. In addition to complying with legal regulations, we provide regular health check-ups and conduct special examinations for employees engaged in specific operations. We foster a safety-conscious environment and implement diverse health care measures to establish a safe and healthy working environment, aiming to prevent occupational accidents and illnesses. Eurocharm Taiwan, in accordance with local regulations, is not required to perform special health examinations or use contracted medical service institutions; only general labor health checks are necessary. Vietnam VPIC1 has a medical care office staffed with 9 full-time medical personnel who provide comprehensive medical services to all employees, including health education, consultations, first aid training, food poisoning drills, and preliminary diagnoses. According to relevant local regulations, general and special health examinations (health checks for noise and toluene exposure) are conducted. In 2023, a total of 4,668 health checks were conducted for employees of Vietnam VPIC1, with 234 special health examinations carried out. Non-employee health checks are the responsibility of the contracting employer. During the year, there were no cases of employees or contractors within the Group experiencing fatal, work-related health deterioration. The results of these checkups are as follows.

During the special health examination process at Vietnam VPIC1, 34 employees were found to have hearing abnormalities. The medical room arranged for further professional examinations and notified the safety office and relevant departments to assist in adjusting the employees’ duties, ensuring they receive proper care.

On May 29, 2023, we invited the Xinzhuang District Fuying Fire Brigade to the Eurocharm’s Xinzhuang Plant in Taiwan to teach employees the Heimlich maneuver and CPR. The employees attentively listened to the instructor’s explanations and diligently practiced the techniques. A total of 17 employees participated.

We encourage employees to engage in recreational activities after work. Therefore, Vietnam VPIC1 has a soccer field where employees often hold friendly matches after their shifts. In 2023, we also organized both men’s and women’s soccer tournaments. In Taiwan, senior colleagues at Eurocharm share strong bonds and frequently arrange sports activities after work, such as basketball and softball games, promoting a health-conscious mindset among employees. In the future, we will also invite non-employee workers to participate in the Company’s health promotion activities, striving to create an excellent healthy workplace.

The VPIC1 12th Men’s Soccer Tournament saw a total of 24 teams competing. From April 22 to June 9, 2023, after 68 matches, the champions, runners-up, and third-place winners were finally determined. Each match attracted many employees who came to cheer, fully demonstrating team spirit and fostering an atmosphere of striving and progress within the Company.

The 5th Women’s Soccer Tournament at VPIC1 took place from September 4 to September 30, 2023. A total of 15 teams competed in 29 matches, ultimately determining the champions, runners-up, and third-place winners. The female players’ performance on the field was no less impressive than that of the men’s teams, and each match attracted many employees who came to cheer them on.

In Vietnam, the Mid-Autumn Festival is a holiday for children. VPIC1 provided a stage for employees’ children to showcase their talents. On September 24, 2023, a total of 15 groups participated in the performances, with over 600 children attending the event. In the end, each child received a gift, bringing joy to both the children and the adults.

After three years of pandemic restrictions, Eurocharm TW organized four softball events (on September 9, November 4, November 18, and December 9). A total of 35 colleagues who are passionate about softball participated.

Eurocharm TW organized a basketball event on December 9, 2023, with 10 colleagues who are passionate about basketball participating.

The Group complies with the Gender Equality in Employment Act and the Implementation Measures for Unpaid Maternity Leave for Raising Children, providing employees with related rights such as maternity leave. In accordance with regulations, employees who have completed one year of service are eligible to apply for unpaid parental leave, with maximum of two years’ leave, before their child reaches the age of three. In Vietnam, there is no specific leave for unpaid parental leave, but in compliance of the Article 139 of Labor Law, female workers are entitled to six months of maternity leave before and after childbirth, with no more than two months before childbirth. In 2023, a total of 89 female employees were eligible for maternity leave during the year.
